Spending the day at the zoo is never a mistake! Our little ones spend hours checking out the animals and activity areas. Definitely plan for a full day if heading to the Calgary Zoo.
➤ TELUS Spark Science Centre
Right across the river from the Zoo, TELUS Spark is an interactive wonderland where kids can explore science, technology, and creativity. Highlights include the immersive digital dome theatre, hands-on maker space, and one of the best outdoor playgrounds in the city.
This is one of our favourite Calgary activities for the kids! There is so much to see and do, and they have an epic outdoor playground!
➤ Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park
Need to burn off some energy? Head to Flying Squirrel, one of the largest indoor trampoline parks in Canada. With foam pits, ninja courses, slam dunk zones, and special toddler areas, it’s the ultimate rainy-day backup or post-Stampede wind-down.
Our little ones love spending the afternoon here. It’s great for days where they have energy to burn, but the weather isn’t cooperating.
➤ Calaway Park
Located just west of Calgary, Calaway Park is Western Canada’s largest outdoor amusement park. With over 30 rides, midway games, live entertainment, and a campground on site, it’s a full-blown family amusement getaway, and a great add-on to your Stampede trip.
Calaway Park is always a good time for our family! It’s another spot where you’ll need to spend most of the day, to make the entry price worthwhile.
Whether you’re wrangling little ones or travelling with teens, Calgary delivers big fun outside the Stampede gates too. Make the most of your visit by mixing in these local favourites!
